Republican (1854-present) 2022 Senator In General Court

Jim Gordon

Jim Gordon grew up in Whitman and graduated from Whitman Hanson Regional High School in 1984. After high school, the next stop was Mount Wachusett Community College in Gardner to study public communications. With rising financial troubles in the family, it was time for Jim to move back home to work during the day and pursue an education at night from Massasoit Community College in Brockton. Jim's first degree was received in Business Administration, which would guide companies' operations across a number of industries for 16 years.

EDUCATION

The core reason Jim's running for public office today is to help restore the direction public education is going - to open doors to vocational education, and open doors to the parents. Academic standards have been watered down to praise mediocre performance rather than challenging our children to learn and grow.

We must teach our children appropriate academic material reviewed by parents that allow for Massachusetts to jump to the top of the list of best educational opportunities. Let our children succeed and show them that skill-based training is an alternative to traditional education.

LAW ENFORCEMENT

Every day we fear that our communities will be impacted by crime, that's why we have law enforcement officers. These officers exist to keep our communities safe from crime, and we should protect all funding while increasing training efforts.

Law enforcement officers cannot fully do their jobs without this funding for training, equipment, and the restoration of qualified immunity in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts. School resource officers must be expanded for children and parents alike to feel safe.

FISCAL RESPONSIBILITY

Families across the state are currently struggling with rampant inflation, out-of-control taxes, and fiscal irresponsibility from our capital. It's time to eliminate the gas tax while ensuring accountable spending from all budget legislation. Move taxpayer funding towards restoring our infrastructure to pave roads and reinforce bridges.
