Gianforte received more votes than any candidate for governor in Montana history and won with the largest margin for a first-term governor since 1920. Gianforte spent his entire career focusing on creating jobs and opportunities.
Here at the Governor's Office of Budget and Program Planning, we provide expert fiscal advice to the Administration. Along with this tireless task, some of our other responsibilities include communication and implementation of fiscal policies at the request of the Governor, as well as ensuring sound fiscal management of the entire state government through statutory oversight.

The Montana Citizens' Advocate Office is located in the Governor's Office at the Montana State Capitol. We are open 8-5pm Monday through Friday.

The Montana Citizens' Advocate is directly charged by the Governor with assisting Montanans in their interactions with state executive branch agencies. Folks often need a little help navigating the rules, requirements, statutes or roles of state government. The Citizens' Advocate, true to its name, advocates on behalf of Montanans and offers direction and assistance within state government.
The Office of the Citizens' Advocate is not able to intervene in matters restricted to the jurisdiction of federal, local or tribal governments, school districts, and other state-wide elected officials or non-executive branch agencies.
The Citizens' Advocate is not a lawyer and cannot give legal advice. They cannot intervene in judicial or quasi-judicial proceedings, or in criminal or civil legal matters within the jurisdiction of courts.
The Citizens' Advocate is not able to intervene in disputes between private citizens and/or businesses. In all these cases, however, the Citizens' Advocate can refer people to the appropriate authorities.
