Eileen Duff, daughter of Mary Galluzzi Duff and the late Paul Duff, is a native of Peabody, MA where she was raised in a politically aware and active family. Accountability of both the Governor’s Council, as well as the appointed justices. Let’s keep the 6th and 7th amendments vibrant and make sure we use common sense in vetting our judges. Judicial appointments should be neither a rubber stamp by the Governor’s Council, nor should the individuals be unfairly scrutinized. I’d like to help insure a balance.
Transparency I believe it is in the public’s best interest to know who has applied for various Judicial appointments, not just the final candidate.
Civility and Fair-mindedness Hearings should be a place to learn about potential justices, not a time for political embarrassment and humiliation. I would work to restore an atmosphere of dignity and respect.
Communication and teamwork is what is needed for the Judicial system to function properly. Our regional representatives in law enforcement support the need to fill court vacancies with competent and qualified candidates that reflect the communities we serve.
I will work to insure that the Governor’s administration understands the needs of the area, and also understands that people of the 5th District have the talent and ability to fill vacancies from within our own communities.
