Susan Williams Gifford was elected Massachusetts State Representative in November of 2002. Serving constituents of the 2nd Plymouth District, including the towns of Middleboro, Carver, and Wareham, she currently serves as the Assistant Minority Whip and is the Ranking Republican member of the House Committee on Steering, Policy & Scheduling.
Serving an appointed position on the Governor’s newly created Massachusetts Ocean Management Task Force to help preserve and protect our ocean resources for the enjoyment of generations to come. Wareham has more than 40 miles of beautiful coastline and it will take a concerted effort to keep it that way. Also contributes as a member of the Governor's committee charged with studying the effects of the 2003 Buzzards Bay oil spill. Susan also served as the Ranking Republican member of the Joint Committee on the Environment, Natural Resources & Agriculture for 12 years prior to her assignment as Assistant Minority Whip.
