Rebecca McClellan has served the 6th Congressional District on the State Board of Education since 2017, and has been a champion for equity and academic growth and achievement for all students. Her service has included a term as the Board Liaison to the Colorado Special Education Advisory Committee, as well as State Board Legislative Liaison. Rebecca has represented the State Board at the National Association of State Boards of Education. Board Member McClellan was selected as a 2017 Gates Fellow to the Harvard Kennedy School of Government program for Senior Leaders in State and Local Government.
Rebecca has worked with legislators and local districts to support the expansion of programs that give students more pathways to success including concurrent enrollment, STEM, Career and Technical Education, and programs like ASCENT, allowing high school students to gain qualifications through community colleges.
