Henry C. “Hank” Johnson

In his eighth term in the U.S. House of Representatives from Georgia’s Fourth Congressional District – which encompasses parts of DeKalb, Gwinnett and Newton counties and all of Rockdale County – Congressman Hank Johnson has distinguished himself as a substantive, effective lawmaker and a leading national progressive voice.   • Is the highest-ranking Democrat on the T&I Subcommittee on Economic Development, Public Buildings, and Emergency Management.
  • His subcommittee promotes economic development in communities suffering economic distress, preside over programs addressing federal management of emergencies and natural disasters – including oversight of Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) – and manage some aspects of Homeland Security.

  • In addressing critical infrastructure needs of Georgia, he states that "Federal investments should include funds supporting state efforts to add additional standard and HOV lanes to major highways in the metro Atlanta region as well as other major causeways throughout the state."

  • Wants to focus on transportation equity – which will ensure that low income Americans will have access to safe and reliable transportation.
