Georgette Gómez is the daughter of immigrants from Mexico and knows first-hand the struggles that new arrivals face in this country. The United States was built by immigrants like the neighbors, friends, and family members living here in our community. Georgette knows that our current immigration system is broken and exploitative. In the Assembly, she will fight to make sure California leads the way in welcoming immigrants and refugees. As Council President, she put San Diego on record to oppose Trump’s border wall.
