NATIONAL SECURITY & FOREIGN POLICY

Congressman McKinley understands that one of the federal government’s sacred responsibilities is the defense and security of our nation. Politics must be put aside when it comes to our military.

He has been a steadfast supporter of our men and women in uniform and consistently voted for the annual National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA), legislation that gives our military the tools it needs to protect our nation.

Additionally, Congressman McKinley believes that a nation that no longer manufactures cannot properly defend itself. Therefore, he has been one of the most prominent advocates of our nation’s industrial base and has led initiatives that preserve American jobs, as well as our nation’s ability to manufacturer the weapons and tools our military needs to protect the nation.

On foreign policy, Congressman McKinley has been a strong and consistent supporter of America’s traditional allies around the globe. He has stood out in Congress as a particularly strong voice for the US-Israel alliance and consistently supported legislation that advances the US-Israel relationship and combats the international Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions (BDS) movement against America’s closest ally in the Middle East.

A staunch opponent of the Iran Nuclear Deal, Congressman McKinley has voted numerous times to oppose the Obama Administration’s ill-conceived attempts to appease one of the world’s foremost state sponsors of terrorism.

Finally, he has been an outspoken opponent of radical Islamic terrorism and has even introduced legislation, H.Con.Res.13, which encourages the State Department to recognize the Taliban as a “Foreign Terrorist Organization” (FTO).
