Empowering The People

The American people feel overwhelmingly disenfranchised by their very own government. This is a calamity that cannot go unnoticed because too much power rests within our government and not with the people.

Generally, power rapidly swings back and forth between two dominant political parties with two opposing agendas and rarely nothing good happens as a result. However, here in California, we have something much worse, a supermajority in the State Legislature and Executive branch, funded by special interests all adhering to the same party, leaving their ideas unchallenged.

Government, on both sides of the political aisle, have infringed on the rights and liberties of the people, making it very difficult for the American people to pursue one of our key inalienable rights, the right to happiness.

To correct this wrong, I believe that the American people must be put into power once again. Unfortunately, the voting process gives us a false illusion of empowerment and truly empowering the people means allowing the people to make the individual decisions as much as possible, plain and simple.

The “decision-factor”, or the one who makes the decision must be driven to the most local level as possible. If the individual cannot solve a problem, local government gets involved. If local government cannot solve a problem, county-government gets involved, and so on and so forth for state governments and our federal government.

Sacramento politicians should support local governments and municipalities, not strive to rule over them.

Finally, our inalienable rights must be protected at all costs. Unfortunately, we have people in office who choose to take the people’s power by infringing on our rights, such as infringing on our right to pursue happiness by shutting down small businesses, or infringing on our right to privacy by wanting to have the power of what medical injections go inside your own body.

As your Assembly Member I will empower you by not only protecting your medical privacy, your bodily autonomy and your rights such as life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness, but by actively looking for ways to help you pursue those rights so we the people may thrive, be prosperous and free as we deserve to be
