Parental rights are fundamental
Children need to be raised by parents. They are uniquely qualified to have a child’s best interests at heart. We must protect our right to have a powerful voice in the education decisions that affect our children’s future.
Parents deserve to have transparency in curriculum. We need to return our focus to basic skills, like reading, math and science. We need to remove politics and culture wars from the classroom. We need to return our focus to curriculum that provides the best opportunity for our children’s success.
Parents cannot play an active part in their child’s education if their voices are not heard. Or if there is fear of retribution for opposing views. We must create legislation that protects our right of notification and permission, from the classroom to the soccer field.
The right to opt out or even seek alternative school choice needs to be strengthened. Whether it be charter, faith based, or homeschooled the money should follow the child. Healthy competition in the education system will improve academic standards across the board.
