I agree with President Biden that healthcare is a right — not a privilege. While California has made tremendous strides in expanding access to healthcare, the fact remains that we must continue this work to expand access to affordable care for more people in our state. Moreover, particularly for women, we must protect reproductive healthcare access and rights. I also believe we must lower the cost of prescription drugs as nobody in our community should be forced to choose between paying for healthcare or medicine and putting food on the table for their family.
