The daughter of a nurse and public school bus driver, both union members, Blanca Pacheco grew up in a working class community. Blanca understands the California Dream, because she and her family have lived it.
Nobody in California should work a full 40 hour work-week and still live in poverty. That’s why in the State Assembly, I’ll work to ensure livable wages for California’s working people, protect workers' rights and their ability to form or join a union, while also creating more good paying middle class jobs. From working to invest more in job-training and apprenticeship programs, as well as workforce development, trade and technology training, and more, I’ll also push to advance policies that give workers the resources they need to build the skills needed for the jobs of today and tomorrow. At the same time, in order to keep California’s status as the fifth largest economy in the world, we need to make sure that businesses in our state can both function and thrive. As such, in the legislature, I will work with our local small businesses, and especially those throughout AD-64, to problem-solve and ensure that we can keep them competitive here at home and beyond.
